Lunar Eclipse at Mt. Able:
The Aftermath
16 July 2000
As usual, click on a picture for a full sized shot.
 What is the proper
response to the mindbending experience of getting up at 4:00 AM to watch the moon sink
into the earth's shadow while rising into the sunlight while setting below the horizon?
 Of course we
weren't at all punch drunk. What? Of course not! Our noses itched!
I waited for a hot shower when we got
home--but Justin felt the need to attend to his personal hygene while still camping. That
bottle in Lynn's hand is the only spring water you'll find at Mt. Abel. It's a dry
camp ground.
This is why I do these things, it's not
realy the eclipse, not really the pine trees or the fun photos, it's Justin (stay tuned
for future adventures, including Rachel!). I only get one of him & he's a teen
already! Gotta make the most of the time we have until he really does know it all.
